Abstract

Neocamarosporium genus is a recent taxon that was introduced in 2014 by Crous et al. These species (Neocamarosporiaceae, Pleosporales) are typically halotolerant and can be found in association with saline niches, like terrestrial plants as halophytes, saline water or even hypersaline soils. In this study, we introduce three novel species isolated from Halimione portulacoides, saline water and dead leaves of Zostera noltii of two saline environments analysing their morphology and phylogeny based on ITS sequences. However, it is essential a combination of sequence data using more specific genes for a robust phylogenetic analysis and species delimitation to resolve these taxa. N. aestuarinum, N. endophyticum and N. halimiones are provided with morphological descriptions and compared with phylogenetically close species.
