Abstract
Coltricia stuckertiana is an emblematic stipitate species from the Chaquean ecosystems of North and Center Argentina, which in previous phylogenetic studies was indicated to be a polyphyletic species outside of Coltricia. To solve the taxonomic status of C. stuckertiana, a phylogenetic reconstruction was made based on the D1-D2 domains of the 28S gene (LSU) combined with the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) and elongation factor 1-alpha (EF 1-α), together with the morphologic revision of the lectotype and reference materials. Our results showed three independent, not closely related species within Phylloporia. Consequently, C. stuckertiana is transferred to Phylloporia and two new cryptic South American species, P. lutiana and P. spegazziniana, are described hereafter.
