Abstract
Colletotrichum karstii causing anthracnose disease of soursop is reported for the first time in Brazil. Cultural and morphological characters of the identified causal agent were consistent and resembled those described for Colletotrichum boninense complex. These results were supported by a multilocus phylogenetic analysis of the actin, calmodulin, chalcone synthase, and the internal transcribed spacer gene regions. Pathogenicity tests revealed typical anthracnose symptoms.
Keywords
Ascomycota. Colletotrichum boninense. Morphology. Phylogeny. Soursop.
