Eupatoriastrum (including Matudina King & H. Rob.) is a small genus of southern Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador. It is characterized by its large convex paleate receptacles which bear numerous florets (100-300). Five species are recognized. Relationships of the genus are discussed, descriptions, complete synonymy, and a hypothetical phyletic diagram of the species are provided. In addition, four of the taxa are illustrated by line drawings.
