Abstract
Strawberry root rot a major disease affecting the production of strawberry (Fragaria?ananassa Duchesne), has caused damage and great losses. In the current study, strawberry plants displaying root rot symptoms were collected in Beijing, China, during 2018 and 2019. Eight representative isolates were isolated from the symptomatic roots. Based on morphology and phylogenetic analysis of combined the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region, β-tubulin and transcription elongation factor 1-α (tef1) region all of our isolates were identified as Neopestalotiopsis rosae, and its pathogenicity was confirmed. This is the first report of N. rosae causing root rot disease on strawberry.
