Abstract
Grape leaf spot is a common disease that is important for grape production losses worldwide. A new species, Cladosporium hebeiense was isolated belonging to the genus Cladosporium from leaf spots of Vitis vinifera in China. Morphologically distinct C. hebeiense consists of erect, flexuous, distinctly geniculate, subcylindrical conidiophores; pale green-brown, smooth, thick-walled conidia with protuberant and darkened conidial hila; and aseptate, obovoidal to short ellipsoidal, small terminal conidia. A multigene phylogenetic analysis based on the internal transcribed spacer region, partial translation elongation factor 1-alpha gene and the actin gene shown C. hebeiense as a new species, different from C. ramotenellum. This study provides morphological and molecular biological studies of the new species.
