Abstract
Collections of a pleurotoid fungus were collected from dead aspen in eastern Russia and were initially identified as Lentinus sp, then as Phyllotopsis nidulans. DNA sequencing of cultures derived from collections clearly showed that these collections were neither Lentinus nor Phyllotopsis and were not related to other pleurotoid genera Hohenbuehelia and Pleurotus. A new genus is described and characterized by culture morphology and growth, fruitbody morphology, and ITS and LSU sequences.
