abstract = {The order Botryosphaeriales (Dothideomycetes) includes numerous endotrophic, saprotrophic, and plant pathogenic species commonly associated with leaf spots, fruit and root rots, die-back or cankers of diverse woody hosts. In a recent phylogenetic treatment of 499 isolates in the CBS culture collection, we evaluated the families and genera that occur in the order. This study represents the second part of this project, and presents multigene phylogenetic analyses for a further 895 isolates, using ITS, tef1, tub2, LSU, and rpb2 loci, in combination with morphological data. Based on these data a total of 24 species are newly described, namely Botryosphaeria diospyri (Diospyros, South Africa), B. grevilleae (Grevillea, Australia), Diplodia afrocarpi (Afrocarpus, South Africa), D. hexachlamydis (Hexachlamis, Uruguay), D. pinicola (Pinus, South Africa), Dothiorella diospyri (Diospyros, South Africa), Do. vitigena (Vitis, USA), Do. vitina (Vitis, Spain), Do. vitiphila (Vitis, South Africa), Lasiodiplodia acaciae (Acacia, Indonesia), L. terminaliae (Terminalia, Tanzania), L. syzygii (Syzygium, South Africa), Neofusicoccum aloes (Aloe, South Africa), N. eucalyptigena (Eucalyptus, Venezuela), N. perseae (Persea, USA), N. podocarpi (Podocarpus, South Africa), N. rapaneae (Rapanea, South Africa), N. theobromae (Theobroma, Panama), Neoscytalidium sanguinicola (human, Netherlands), Ne. gabonense (human, Gabon), Pseudofusicoccum perseae (Persea, USA), Saccharata grevilleae (Grevillea, Australia) and S. hakearum (Hakea, Australia) and One new combination is introduced as Phaeobotryon hypodermia. This study produced an expanded phylogenetic backbone for Botryosphaeriales, and clarified the identity of numerous isolates that lacked Latin binomials, or were deposited under incorrect names in the past, adding valuable information to our knowledge of species in the order.}
