abstract = {A total of 52 strains of the genus Diaporthe were obtained by pathogen isolation and single spore culture from the infected buds of peach trees showing constriction canker symptoms in Fujian Province, China. Phylogenetic analyses using comparisons of DNA sequence data for the internal transcribed spacer of the ribosomal DNA (ITS), translation elongation factor 1-α (TEF), ?-tubulin (TUB), histone (HIS), and calmodulin (CAL) gene regions, as well as their morphological features revealed two novel taxa, D. zaofenghuang and D. jinxiu and five known species, D. eres, D. caryae, D. hongkongensis, D. unshiuensis and D. cercidis. The current study improves the understanding of species causing constriction canker and provides useful information for the effective disease management of peach in China. }
