Most legume phylogenies have relied heavily on plastid gene datasets, with or without nuclear ribosomal DNA ITS data, but the sequences of nuclear genes and gene-spanning regions offer certain advantages. We tested the phylogenetic utility of five nuclear loci across the species-rich legume clade Hologalegina: PGDH, TRPT, HRIP, RNAR, and CNGC4 (CNGC4-like protein).
