Abstract
A new resinicolous species of Chaenothecopsis is described from New Caledonia: Chaenothecopsis neocaledonica from resin of Agathis ovata (Araucariaceae, Pinales). The new species is the first mycocalicioid fungus to be described from the exudates of Southern Hemisphere confers. It is compared with morphologically and ecologically similar species from the Northern Hemisphere.
