Abstract
Based on morphological and molecular data, two new species of Albatrellus sensu lato, A. alpinus and Scutiger edulis, are described from Yunnan Province of southwestern China. Phylogenetic analyses based on the internal transcribed spacer regions (ITS), the large subunit of nuclear ribosomal RNA gene (nLSU), the small subunit mitochondrial rRNA gene (mtSSU) indicated that the two new species were nested within the genera Albatrellus sensu stricto and Scutiger. Albatrellus alpinus is characterized by buff to pale yellow pileal surface, clamped generative hyphae with yellow and shapeless oily substance, and small amyloid basidiospores. Scutiger edulis is characterized by curry-yellow to cinnamon-buff pileal surface which becoming buff to olivaceous buff upon drying, with coarse squamulose, and ellipsoid to teardrop-shaped, non-amyloid basidiospores. Differences between the two new species and their similar species were discussed. A key to Chinese species of Albatrellus sensu lato is provided.
