Abstract
It is the first report of Alternaria tenuissima causing leaf spot on yellow ginger (Dioscorea zingiberensis) in Jiangsu province, China. To identify the pathogen, molecular and morphological identification data of the total four isolates were obtained and a multiple-gene phylogenetic tree was built based on three genes ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS), Plasma membrane ATPase (ATP) and Calmodulin (CAL). Koch?s postulates were fulfilled with the isolates.
